Here’s Everything You Wanted To Know About Listing a Business on MCYellowPages.com But Was Afraid to Ask

Okay, so that’s out of the way let’s get down to the “bidness” of listing your “bidness” in the MC Yellow Pages.

  1. Click the green “Add Listing” block. Typically this block is in the top right corner of the screen but may be elsewhere depending on the device and browser.
  2. If you’re logged in, after clicking the block it’ll bring to the listing form. If you’re not logged in you’ll be required to login.
  3. The first thing you MUST do is select a category for the business you’re listing. You will not be able to submit your listing without selecting a category so you might as well select it right off. “Why” you might ask. Because once you select the category it shows all of the different parts of the listing form that you need to go through.
    • You can only select one category, so select the main category that applies to the business. Other products and services can be listed in the description. Example: You’re a cardiologist who does landscaping on the side. The category to choose is cardiology. In the description block you can write that you also do landscaping.
    • The next obvious question is can the business be listed multiple times in multiple categories. The answer is “no”. However, if you do this the listing will initially go through. A site administrator will remove all but one listing later on and you’ll get a polite email asking you to refrain from doing this going forward.
  4. The next item is to “Select Images”. More to the point is to select and upload images. If at all possible you should include at least one image with your listing because it draws attention on the listing page. It generally takes about 10 seconds for the image to upload.
  5. Enter the Title of the Business. This is the name that the business will be displayed as.
  6. Next is the phone number. It’s a required field and to ensure uniformity please type it into the ###-###-#### format.
  7. Contact Person is an optional field, but if you work for sales in a large company and you initiate the listing, you’ll want anyone calling to request to speak with you.
  8. Physical Address is also optional, but you’ll want to list it if your business is a place where customers come to you as opposed to a service type business where you go to the customers. If in doubt, put it in.
  9. Now for the description – enter in as much information as you can that would tell a prospective customer what they’d want to know about the business. You can also make the language promotional. You CANNOT make the listing language negative. See below.
    • If it’s your own business or someone you want to promote, by all means use the description to accentuate the positive. That’s perfectly fine and reasonable.
    • If it’s a business you’re listing in order for people to know about them and avoid them, send in a request to have an administrator list the business. The reason for this is that you cannot review a business that you list. The best way to handle this is to let an administrator provide a neutral listing. You can then go back and give them a one start rating and blast them in the review.
  10. Now press the “Submit Listing” button and you’ll get a message stating “Thank you! Your listing has been submitted and will be reviewed as soon as possible. Return to Account.”
  11. Now, if you hover over your profile, you’ll see a “Listings” choice in the dropdown. It’ll show your listing as pending awaiting administrator approval. This space will also show any listings you’ve submitted which are already approved and has an edit button so that you can edit them if you need to.
